The ends of any type of dipole antenna carry high voltages.

Strings attached ftw: I tend to use thin cheap plastic rope to tie those wires to stuff. As long as it's dry, I think such rope provides good isolation. For wet weather, monofilament ("plastic wire", fishing supply) is better.

The string is tied to the antenna wire not necessarily at its very end. If you let half a meter or so of the wire dangle down from the attachment point, that loose end will carry the highest voltages.
