and peeps: for surge suppression, for a control line, DXE sells this thing, for like a lot of money. based on the picture it looks like its just a capacitor from each wire to ground, I'm assuming theory is that normal use the capacitor blocks the dc control voltages from ground, but with impulse or ac induced by nearby lightning would shunt to ground.

Anyway, the question is....
does anyone know what type/value of capacitors to use, if I were to home brew this?
