Hello users.

I've just blocked solagg dot com because I was getting a bunch of follow spam and that's all I can see from that domain.

Let me know if I've just screwed up a legitimate user :alex_thinking:

Weather so far is a go for the flight. Looking like around a 7:15-7:30am central launch time. We will post the frequency as soon as we have it.

Last weekend, I made various cable hacks for a few radios, so I could go hands-free. I had an unused sennheiser shotgum mic laying around, so why not?

Running last night's net was AMAZING. So easy to foot-key the mic and type in netlogger at the same time. Really took a lot of stress out of the situation.

Mic is fed to a presonus rack mixer, which is then auxed out to radios. Unconventional? Yes. But, easy to dial in and sounds great! :flan_squee: :flan_royal:

New blog post: "'Secure' is Meaningless"

People sometimes ask me whether the latest gadget or app is "secure". That's a meaningless question - here's how to make something meaningful of it.

Is there a way to make my frame buffer or terminal emulator look like an amber monochrome CRT?

I know tmux can do themes but I'm drawing a blank on finding something premade.

For context, it costs roughly £300 to employ a sign language interpreter for one night. They likely spent more on gaffer tape.

The real spirit of amateur radio. (From Sept '21 edition of SolidCopy newsletter)

I've been enjoying but struggled to find any CDs for sale in the UK for sensible prices, then I found Cheese for £5.26 on eBay.

It just arrived, with a price sticker from a charity shop on it saying £1.99 :alex_laugh:

At least delivery was free...

One of my Raspberry Pis that has been running fine for ages wasn't letting me ssh in - it would connect then immediately disconnect.

So I tried a power cycle, and it didn't come back up.

So I took the SD card out and ran e2fsck on it

Now EVERYTHING is in LOST+FOUND, then entire root filesystem.
