OK, I've clearly exceeded my knowledge.

I have a car battery and I want to monitor the current and voltage it is supplying (or drawing if it's being charged)

I have it connected via a HAT on a raspberry pi, which is rated for 3.2A + or -

However, I seem to keep killing it.
I can no longer get power to flow on two of it's four measuring things, so I suspect I've overloaded them with the battery giving too many amps.

WWFF JS8Call Island Activation | Hailuoto Kirkkosalmi OHFF-0970

On 8 May 2021, OH8STN and myself will be activating WWFF “OHFF-0970 Kirkkosalmi”. Which has never been activated. It’s also an IOTA island. Primary mode for the activation is JS8Call.

See OH8STN blog post for details:

Last night I finished building multiband (80m and up).

It has two FT240-43 toroid cores wound as 64:1 transformer and approx. 1.5μH compensation coil which should tune the antenna better for ham bands on higher frequencies.

Next I need to figure out how to get this on air to be able to tune it.

Why 64:1 transformer? Because I already built one 49:1 so now I can compare between these two.

It's been a sunny day and my 20w solar panel barely keeps up.

I don't need a 50w panel, I don't need a 50w panel...

This came incredibly quickly, thanks @bleeptrack

Now I just need to work out what to do with it.
And how to do that...

UK politics / Coronavirus / (a very tiny) call to action

We're not talking about the KFC secret blend of herbs here, these are millions of people's lives, physical and mental health, and livelihoods that are needlessly being put on the line through the most wanky capitalist gatekeeping and nationalism.

My aprs tx-igate is now running on solar power
This is just a test, if it works OK I'll wire it up nice and mount it on the wall or something...

Then I'll write it up properly for you to retoot 😁

The Hustler 4-BTV is up and running :) Please ignore the cable routing - this will be improved. Next goal is a DIY 17m add-on.

I've been having issues with my phone being connected to WiFi but not being able to connect to anything.

It's fine to start with, then stops working.
Android does not say the WiFi has no internet connection, but I can't load anything even from the local network when it happens.

Can anyone suggest a way to debug this? Maybe an app that can test various things like DNS gateway etc?

Yes I have rebooted. Turning WiFi off and on again restores connections, but not for long. Other devices are ok

Any opinions about FT-857? An old one is up for sale and I am wondering if I can use it for my SSB/CW/FT8 operations..

So for the guy who about 20 years ago failed out of college who swore he would never go back to school, yesterday I graduated with a Masters degree in Computer science... I know not so humble brag, but It is an accomplishment I am a little proud of... :)

Every April 18, radio amateurs worldwide take to the airwaves in celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. It was on this day in 1925 that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris...
