Ossi OH8HUB

My satellite ground station has been up and running for six months.

My antenna is a dipole I just cobbled together from wire and some coax and it's hanging outside my garage door. It seems to have some directivity towards east.

Hi Ossi!

I'm interested in LORA satellites. Is there a website that is a one stop shop for everything I need to know about ti to get into it?

@KG8LM I followed the instructions in wiki.

In a nutshell what I did was to order a supported board (LILYGO TTGO LoRa32 V2) from Aliexpress. Then I flashed the firmware, built the antenna and set it up. And forgot about it. It has been happily running since then.

The boring part is that there's currently only two birds (Norbi and FEES) flying. I'm not sure if they even support uplink.

@oh8hub Very cool! I wasn't aware of the existence of TinyGS - so thank you for that.

@DL6MHC I actually built mine to receive the Finnish wooden satellite which was due to be launch this year.

However, they ran into issues getting radio license. The project is now postponed and won't probably transmit on 70cm Lora.

@oh8hub That is very interesting. Fun fact: I have a DollaTek LoRa32 V2.1 433 MHz module here which is waiting for something useful to do.

@DL6MHC That might support TinyGS firmware?

@oh8hub Just received the first packets:

@DL6MHC And now you already have received 10! Really nice!
