Some #BK4819 news!
A programming application note for it was shared in the English language Quansheng UV-K5 Telegram group.
So I machine translated and mirrored it.
Here is a direct link to the machine translated one:

And here is the original Chinese language one to reference.

Still quite a pile of stuff to read and make sense off.
I guess the code on github is related or the real Beken provided demo code. As this document seems to talk about functions a lot.
At the very end of the document. There is this mention of filter bypass for digital use.
That might interest the
@m17_project and
@openrtx folks.
#digital #radio #M17 #openrtx
@ftg @m17_project very nice find, it makes total sense to go ahead and test this.
SP5WWP is already looking into this and could use your help, hop on their Matrix channel to coordinate.
I would prepare a test firmware using https://github.com/amnemonic/Quansheng_UV-K5_Firmware and inject an M17 baseband!
@openrtx @m17_project
Might be also possible to run the radio as a dumb frontend like with sa868 or how opengd77 made it possible to run the radio as a modem for MMDVM.
The USB programming interface is a normal UART, after all.
@ftg yes. I read this Paper Yesterday. I tried several MDC1200 decoders I found. Non of them showed Decoded Data.
@ftg Probably yes. I dunno if MDC works with K5<>K5. I have one HT only. I'll look at the signal with SA or URH again.
