24 hours of IARU world championship last weekend: All licensed ops are invited. I took part, as I usually do.

During 16:24 hours "time in seat", I harvested 259 contacts reaching 50 countries and islands ("DXCCs", we call 'em).

I used a modest station: Low power of 5W, my antenna consists of 2x5m wire (angled dipole), 10 m above inner city ground, some 5 m lower than neighboring roofs.

Worked excellently! I'm very happy! 😁

Score: 679 QSO pts, 91 muls, claimed 61789 - my best ever!

A so-called "beam map" centered at my home town Berlin, Germany. This somewhat unusual map projection shows each place in the direction my radio waves have to depart Berlin to reach it. x and y axis labels are in meters. I left out most of Africa, South America, and the Pacific, as I had no contacts there. The map's title line summarizes info also available in the toot and also mentions my average rate: 15.8 contacts per hour or one contact each 3.8 minutes. Green dots all over the map each mark the location of one hamradio op contacted by me during the championship. There are many dots all over Europe. Here is a list of places outside of Europe that I reached, together with information which short-wave band(s) I used for the contact(s) and which mode(s). The common mode abbreviation "CW" means "Morse code" and "SSB" means "phone". (Such band or mode information is not available via the map.) As Morse reaches further than does phone, most faraway contacts where in "CW".
