I WILL BLOCK ALL OTHER TYPES OF FOLLOWERS
@N4JAW this is not the first time I've come across someone who states that they'll block followers.
No criticism of you, but why do you block followers?
@vk6flab Valid Question. I've had people as young as my grandkids following me exposing themselves with sexual content, spam to buy something, politics, hateful content.
I've got separate accounts for several of my activities on social platforms. i.e. Bike Commuting, Bike Touring, and general content. On those accounts I BLOCK people who follow with unrelated a content
I'm here because I don't want to talk about HAM RADIO related content,
@N4JAW unless I'm misunderstanding you, how does their content affect you in any way? As I understand it, I don't see any of my followers in my feed unless I choose to follow them.
@vk6flab You are correct about not seeing their content unless I follow them. However I choose not to have MY CONTENT in their feeds to prevent any of their followers from following me.
@N4JAW It's why I keep separate accounts for other topics. If I am on here it's because I don't want to talk about anything but. ;)
@va3db I've got separate accounts for several of my activities on social platforms. i.e. Bike Commuting, Bike Touring, and general content. Like you, I'm here because I don't want to talk about anything but....
@N4JAW I was a bike commuter for a number of years, including winter cycling. That sort of thing is on my general account https://ottawa.place/deck/@Dianora
BSD is elsewhere.
@N4JAW Actually one of my goals for this summer is to get back on the bike and do some QRP from parks. I need to figure out a set up for that!
@va3db Now that I'm in cancer remission for the 3rd time this summer I'm hoping to do some multi-week bike tours and POTA activations around the midwest. Due to COVID I missed a from from Toronto to Louisville with a friend I know there. Another friend from Louisville was going to fly up and the three of us were going to ride back to Louisville. I met the Toronto cyclist on G+ and found out she had a friend I had been riding with for years here in Louisville. Small World..
@tsherrygeo Thanks Tim. I've had you in my HAm Alert for I don't know how long. I've had. Everytime, I've gotten an alert about you operating I've not been close to my rig. It will happen.
@N4JAW you're in mine as well. Just haven't been able to hear you. I need to get on an east coast remote
@va3db Before retiring I used to have a 12 - 40 mile Bike-To-Work Commute depending if I was training for a Triathlon. Bike Commuted year old. Coldest was -20F Wind Chill in blowing snow. Hottest was 102F with 112 Heat Index. Last night I was watching some of my first and got out this morning and did 15 miles in 20F temps. I miss those Down Patrol Bike COmmutes.
@N4JAW I used to destroy junk bikes riding in winter. Narrow tires and all. There are two schools of thought on it, narrow tires really cut through the snow but most people now prefer fat tires. Used to ride to work as well don't think it was that far but a good work out each morning and night!
