Had to replace the battery in my work laptop. Scary looking bulgy cells.

Let's have a look inside. After carefully peeling away the wrap, we see 6 individual LiPO cells in a black tray

Here's what appears to be the temperature sensor

A side view of what one of the puffed out LiPO cells look like compared to the lone un-puffed out LiPO cell

The printed text on the cells says each one is a 4115 mAh cell providing 15.84 Wh. The entire battery pack is labelled as a 97 Wh battery.

Three of the identifiable chips on the control board. The left one, D6SA3 appears to be a fuse. The other two, TPCA 8088 look to be MOSFETs

Over on the other side of the board is another small chip that I think is labelled BQ40370 (pretty hard to make out). Whatever it is, it's probably in charge of power management.

This battery controller board was made 30-Nov-2016. The 8 wires on the right go to the connector that attaches to the laptop motherboard.
