@KO6YQ That's how Arizona ditched DST in the 1960s. After one year with DST, we didn't need daylight that late in the evening - especially when it is 40C to 45C outside, or even higher than that.
The Navajo Nation in Arizona observes DST, to keep up with the rest of their reservation in Utah and New Mexico. The Hopi reservation, completely surrounded by the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona, does not observe DST. Mobile phone network time keeps up with all of that up there...
