Pics and reports on @ARRLFieldDay to follow once I've had a day to recover a bit. The club (CVARC) where I am the Field Day coordinator operated a 23A setup in challenging band conditions and I'm just amazed at how well everyone pulled together to do it. Not confirmed yet, but it's expected to be the largest such operation in the country again.
Between setup, the 24 hour event and breakdown, I walked nearly 40 miles. A real long covid victory, that.
So many cool visitors as well, including Mastodonians @ai6yr, @TOCCNewman, @becomingwisest, @kd6nfd, @w6en, and many many others I'll mention in the next few days.
No sooner had I posted that, my bloody Fitbit watched nagged me to get up and walk a bit. The nerve!
@W6KME @ai6yr @TOCCNewman @becomingwisest
Wish I would have known! Would love to see what you radio peeps do!
Where were you? I was out all morning in the Santa Rosa Valley. Ran into some kids selling homemade lemonade. A stellar day.
@K8tyCA @ai6yr @TOCCNewman @becomingwisest I really really need to start leaning harder on Mastodon with ham radio activities-I's sorry I hadn't got the info out to you!
We have been operating in Hidden Valley near Thousand Oaks the last few years, where there is room for our 700' antenna array.
I also put on a more-or-less monthly Micro Field Day in the area, so I'll make sure the info gets posted here.
@W6KME @ai6yr @TOCCNewman @becomingwisest not a radio peep but interested in seeing the operation. Very valuable skill and needed these strange days.
