I have to admit I'm just wrapping my IC705 in a soft towel before dumping it into my backpack.
To my lame defence, the towel sometimes sees random other use once the activation site is reached. If nothing else, rolling it into a roll that can prop up the rig, so the display can be better viewed from a somewhat above-y angle.
@oh8hub Improvement idea: It could have room on side so one could mount a connector plate next to it where would be BNC, mic, power and USB. Then you wouldn't need to take the radio out from the bag when outdoors.
@jouni There's a space between radio display and the case lid. Display protector with bunch of connectors might work.
