Picked up a $30.00 Anysecu UV-K5 it arrived from China a whole 5 or 6 days ahead of time.....
And it's both better, and worse then I thought it would be.
With some interesting features, like NOAA channels, and airband - And only a few dollars more then a UV-5R - this could be the new beginner radio to give to new hams.
