Two #eBikes/ongoing projects needing crank drives: both running 3x8 drivetrain and wanting a slightly larger big ring, with a wider-range cassette. Supposedly I can get the tsdz2 to fit 2x chainrings. Rear wheels are both 20in. What is the biggest chainring my existing derailers will take, or what's the biggest step they can make between? Other motor recs? Both bikes also have one hub motor. I can change rear derailers to match a new 8x, not exactly planning to change shifters #BikeTooter

Hey chat, count the teeth on these chainrings (Update: sticky note says #BikeFriday has 30, 40, 52 chainrings with 11-28 on the cassette.)

I suggest a little graphics hack that will superimpose an SVG gear over the chain ring photograph and then solve for tooth count. The g9.js reverse animator is made for this.
