W1CDN was my great-grandfather Thor Hannon's callsign from 1931 to 1936. I got it as a vanity once I upgraded to Extra.
Thor may have given up radio after that, because in 1938 he and Alfred B. Nelson founded Superior Electric in Bristol CT. Folks may recognize some of these products: https://www.wimb.net/index.php?s=slosyn&page=0&info=1
He was also first president of the Bristol Radio Club founded 1931.
