Happy tooting!

Looks like we had some downtime.
Server ran out of disk space.
I have removed some old backups, and will see how I can make those more space efficient.

I think matrix.org looks interesting.
I wonder if the radio community would like to try it for "engineering comms" (e.g. "I can't copy you on 40m, shall we try 80?" and "are you free for a sked on 23cm tomorrow?")

Here is a poll to see if anyone else would be interested!

Does anyone know if it's possible (and by extension, how) to master the accounts on a server from ?
I.e. You would have to have an account on mastodon.radio to log into the matrix server, and it would use the same credentials.

Welcome everyone, i just start studying HAM radio: looking forward to have a license !

Currently in a hotel room in Maryland. I wasted no time setting up my simple, compact portable ham radio station. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

@xgess
Hey! Apparently you are the person to reach out to for help doing the mastodon + keybase thing?
I thought it "just works" but apparently not.
Can you point me in the right direction please?

It's happened.
I have someone requesting to join mastodon.radio who's reason looks fine, but doesn't mention radio at all.
I need more information, and I don't think I can do that other than by sending an email directly...
It could be genuine, or it could be genuine looking spam.

Any ideas @Gargron ?

"Accept that sometimes, or for some people, your JavaScript will not work. Put some thought into what that means."

One of the most well-thought-out, toned-down, and yet cutting and accurate #web #programming criticism out there.

Hello all, I'm a fairly recent ham, licensed in 2016 with a General Class. I'm working on getting into SDR and digital modes, but I've not gotten up a decent antenna yet. I'm a software developer, husband, father to an 11 y/o son and a bad musician.

Oh hi Internet.

Just a little request ... can you stop using javascript to make your website load please?

I'm bored of following a link to blank white screens that magically become a normal html website after I un-block javascript for your domain.

Let's try using the polls feature for something amateur radio related.

FT8:

Quick

I've enabled "Approval mode" for this instance.

We've had a few spammy / scammy accounts created recently.
Using approvals we can keep registrations open.

Let's use a poll to find out what you all think!

Right ... let's try v2.8.0 shall we.
Pre-emptive apologies for any downtime.
