Playing radio today with my portable tripod (an all-aluminum stand usually used for scene lighting on emergency vehicles). My Comet GP-3 (VHF/UHF) antenna is mounted instead. Tripod is about 12' (3.66m) where the antenna mounts.

@wreckitralpholdhamhands Hello and welcome!
I see you have already spotted my normal welcome toot :D

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

Hi, I am Guido, LU8EQ from Argentina. I've just signed up and started exploring this new world.
So making first toot for is a great way to begin with.
I really like vintage/classic ham radio gear.

@CosmicJohn Hello and welcome!

If you'd like to toot an introduction with the hashtag "introductions" I'll give it a boost and see if we can get you some more followers 😁

You can find more people in the instance in the directory

(you can opt into this too)

And this list of radio amateurs on mastodon, may be of interest: pad.dc7ia.org/p/radio_amateurs

And there are apps!

Happy tooting!

I use for my daily browsing, and development (nothing beats the MDN!)

But I'd like to test for chrome(ium) but don't want to install Google Chrome.

Does anyone know how to get a reliable, release version, of for OSX?
Ideally I'd like to get it from something resembling an "official" source, and I'd like an actual release version, not something built off master.

Thanks in advance!

A heads up - I'll be QRV from KFF-3026 on April 13 and 14 for Texas State Parks on the Air - I'd love to work you. Check the usual dx spot networks for my spot.

Just signed up here, so posting as suggested.

My QTH has made me a big fan of limited space antennas including magnetic loops, along with remote tuning and control.

Big fan of SSTV, packet radio, phone, and some digital modes.

Waiting for things to warm up here in Toronto so I can spend a little more time outside getting antennas set up properly.

Continuing the experiments, exploring self hosting my music.

I have three things running at the moment,
* a simple samba network file share
*
* @funkwhale

Ampache is good, but I'm not massively keen on the Web ui, however the android app I've tried seems better.

Funkwhale has the best Web ui, but the api seems to be limiting the power of apps.

And both complain about meta data way more than just playing a file with the "samba player" app.

Today, as an experiment, Slow Scan Radio will have a second data signal during almost the complete show. The 2nd stream will be at 125 Hz in PSK31 (BPSK31), minus 20 dB. You can start two instances of Fldigi, with the 2nd on this extra stream (you might want to ...

Just installed github.com/VSCodium/vscodium

Seems exactly the same ... shame it doesn't pull my settings though.

I now have all the parts for the amplifier I'm building for my HackRF One and I've built some prototype hardware for my keyer dongle.

PCARS is a great club. Proud to be a long distance member!

I enjoyed acquiring SSTV images from the ISS over the two weekends they ran the event. I kept notes as I tried different methods (I didn't learn about the robot36 app till today which would have made things easier) and posted the images I decoded here: k3ltc.com/links/iss.html
