A friend proposes to me a 12AVQ. It's a HF vertical triband antenna for 10, 15 and 20m.
Anyone has used this antenna in field ?
I don't know if it is a good idea to carry this kind of stuff instead of an EFHW 🤔
Not enough place to install it at the QRA

@F1RUM for a fleeting moment there, i thought a friend had proposed to marry you on amateur radio, and all you cared about was the equipment 😂

@thor oh my God... sometime my English is not very clear 🤪

@F1RUM This is not a portable antenna. It weights about 4 kg and needs a radial system. Also my experience with trap loaded antennas on such close bands is that they do not work as well as they should: the traps are too close to each other and their mutual coupling is not sufficiently taken into account.

@dl2jml effectively, it is not a good idea for field operation.

@F1RUM Hi Jean Pierre, I used one a few years ago, it has a favorable lobe for DX quite low on the horizon. It is necessary to put radials so it is placed above the ground. You have to reinforce the macanic of the traps, it's quite light. Otherwise it works asset well.
